Notes

Interesting isn't it? The heart rate that is. The race went pretty well according to plan. First mile fast but then settled down and was pretty calm for the next 15 miles as I cruised in 4th place. Turned the gas on with a 5:46 and moved into second. Then in mile 22 moved into first and won by something like four minutes. I mean 2:47 isn't very fast and it's not that hard.

This might be the only time I win a marathon in course record time. I don't take that for granted. I've won a mile (heat at least), 5k, 5 mile, half marathon and marathon. None of it is very impressive, I would rather run fast, but it is fun to win. I spent a good portion of the race thanking God that I have this ability to run and race. After an injury that threatens ever running again or running competitively to come out and throw this down, it's nearly three hours of continuous blessing.
