Pushed myself a bit more today. I took the pace up to 7.0 for about 2 minutes...spent at least 8-10 minutes at 6.0 pace. Not altogether, but 5-6 minutes at that pace, and a rest and another 2 minutes or so...and so on. I took some time to consider my goal before I ran, which helped me make the decision to go ahead with the run. I asked myself if I would get closer to accomplishing the goal by skipping a workout, or if I would make it further down the road by running? Also, during the run it helped to remember the goal I have in mind which is running the Boston Marathon in 2010. I have some short term goals, mid term goals, as well...and I should keep them in mind. I'm considering running a 5k when I visit my parents in October. There are 2 races that I could possibly be involved in....one in Coffeyville and one in Independence. I do want to balance pushing myself and ensuring that I don't hurt myself and put myself out of action again.
