consider bucket kicked. first time on snow shoes. first time on a mountain in the winter for that matter. quite an experience and met some great people. any time you have a race, and course, put on by the spartan race folks, you know it's going to be a doozy. this one was as advertised. up and down 1500+ ft of some godforsaken mtn in vt...twice. no issues other than a heal blister. i've met my quota for hill running after this race. thanks to spartan jim for the invite, driving, and lunch. thanks to ben nephew for letting me borrow a pair of his kick ass snow shoes. thanks to double d and mike quintal for their snow shoe tips. on a side note, it boggles my mind that some people were out there doing 100 miles. that's 16 times up and down that mtn. in less than 36 hrs. insane isn't the right word.
