Woke up at 4 am. Race weight : 72.4 kg. Breakfast, 3 pieces of toast with lemon curd and cup of coffee. Bags were packed the previous night. Headed out at 4.45 am and parked in Melbourne CBD, Riverside Quay Car Park, Southbank ($7 all day parking). Was hoping there would be toilet facilities at the car park but sadly none. Previously, other car parks, have used their toilet facilities as there are no queues, hence no pressure. From car park, still in warm clothing, walked to MCG, about 1.5 km, used toilets, queues not that bad as I was there relatively early and then dropped my clothes off about 6.30 am. Thankfully, it wasn't that cold. Short walk to the start area and managed to position myself at the start line.

Biggest problem was the merging of Marathon runners with the half-marathoners about the 33 km mark. This really upset my rhythm, actually ran quicker during this period, 4:00/km pace, which I believe could be the reason for some slower km's later on.

No post race issues; yes have sore legs but that's what is expected.
