Gained 8lbs over the weekend, first run of the week, and added fartleks at 8.2mph, 10 mph, and (GASP) 10.5 mph. Wearing my old shoes. You would think I'd be dead tired after today's run.

Nope. For the first time as I can remember, when I finished my run today, I felt NOTHING. No pain, no fatigue, just got off the treadmill and I felt... well... normal. I can't really explain it, but it was just a perfect run.

STarted at 6.4 mph and worked up to 7.0 at the end, with a 5 minute cool down that was anywhere from walking to 10.5 mph finish, but mostly at 6.0. During the run I did add a few fartleks, but it was all negative splits. I also ran at 84-86 BPM (168-172) which seems awkard at first but felt fine at the end. It's hard to keep running slow at that tempo which is why all the fartleks. But it felt fine. And of course I was steppin with the music the whole way except for the occasion long stutter step. I don't care what people thnk of me in the gym, I did good today and outlasted everyone. You think they got to respect that, but I'm too old to care anymore. What an awesome day.

Little nervous about my Medium run tomorrow at american river parkway... in the heat. I'll just take it slow right?
