Much, much, much better. With each two miles I felt better and better. I wanted to go faster and farther. Thankfully the treadmill is useful for keeping me at exactly the pace I intended. I finished the run more refreshed, full of energy, and feeling better than before I started. This is good.

So, one week after a huge effort at the half and my energy stores are filling again. I think the soreness peaked yesterday. I do still feel it but I know feel in control. I think the side effects of the effort will completely subside in a few days and I'll be full speed ahead in charging my batteries. I'm starting to think putting the brakes on things and going easy might leave me ultimately at the same point as I would have been had I finished up like I was planning. In reality I'm finishing this week just 7 miles under that Pfitz 18/55 plan (save the workouts) and I'll be right on target with the next two weeks.

I'm starting to understand what "peak" means. You carefully build things up and then, when ready, burn all the matches. Hopefully I didn't burn to many already. We'll see.
