Apparently you can mtb on a cross bike. It's not as easy though. The tall tires roll over anything but it's so bumpy you had better hang on tight and watch out for pinch flats. Got a pinch flat and discovered I forgot my CO2 chuck. Fortunately another ride came right by and offered her pump. Got lost a lot. I wish they marked the loop a little better.
