Notes
Felt good on the warmup and the first three miles went well. As I approached the long downhill I couldn't get it under 6:20 pace without redlining it. After about 4 miles struggling to keep it under 6:30 pace I just let it go and ran it in. There was no sense killing myself for a mediocre result. I'd rather save the legs for training and minimize the recovery. So, about 5 minutes slower than the last two years on better training. I believe this result just underscores the physical and emotional toll I've been through in the last two weeks after my dad's death. I need to go somewhere and sleep for a couple days.
