Tough race. Went out up hill into the wind aggressively. Kept pushing through the first 5 miles with a continued cross wind then turned straight into the 20+ mph windy beast for two miles of exposed hell. The 6-8 runners around me quickly formed a tight rotation and tried our best to shield from the wind rotating as if we were in a paceline. The worst was over by mile seven but the effort had taken it's toll. My goal from that point on was to maintain goal pace and kick it at the end. That I did, but it was rough. I was lucky to put a few guys behind me in the last 3 miles before sinking the pace and emptying the tank.
Two seconds slower than two weeks ago but happy with the effort. Finished higher in a bigger field. It was rough.
