Notes
Nearly 20 mph winds from the west while the course was out and back, north & south. Plan was to run the first 5K around 6:10 pace and negative split the return, hopefully to a PR. Had some cross headwind heading out and some cross tailwind coming back so I was even more conservative and then more aggressive on the out and back respectively.
Don't think I really flipped the race switch in my brain but benefited from good fitness, smart running, and picking off runners the whole way. I was probably only working hard in the last mile. That makes me think I probably had a faster run in me today. This is despite the fact that this run was much faster than I had hoped, about a 55 second PR. I'm happy about that.
5K Splits 19:03 (6:13) & 18:14 (5:57)
