Very solid run today.

-I slept great the night before. Food and hydration went perfectly. No digestion or gas issues.

-Got to the race start line plenty early. Hung out by the marathon porta johns which helped reduce pre race anxiety and nervousness. I never had to wait for a bathroom line.

-Race start went great. Started out and actually got hot and then it rained which helped cool me off to the perfect temp. Started off easy and then continued to push each and every mile. I went into the race not expecting a whole lot. I knew I had a good fitness base but not sure what kind of leg speed I would show up with. Well, they showed up. I was able to really push and I didnt have to dig deep until the last 2ish miles.

-No water, gels, bathroom breaks, or powerade. Just grit

-This is a TC Ten miler PR. I believe my Hot Dash 10k in 2015 was faster but it was shorter...

-Looking back, I passed a ton of people on the hills. Both up and down. I feel the hill workouts I did while training for Eric's race paid off. Then on the downhills many people were holding back. I felt confident to let go and run controlled down hill.

-Very happy with my performance! It was fun. Ten milers are just so short ha. All of sudden it was 8 miles and time to really push. I always always enjoy this race.

-As I write this 4 days later, my legs feel great. I feel my recovery is really. About 99% of the soreness is gone!

Now looking on to next year.
