Interesting run not sure how to categorize it. The slow splits were in the woods where is was single file trails with some pretty steep rolling hills. We did have a couple spots where we stopped very briefly (sort of like crossing the street on the run) to figure out which trail to go to. But for the most part we were lost in the woods. Varsity boys pulled away from me in the last 2.25 miles. But not by that much. They were in site the whole time. Top two varsity girls hung with the boys a little longer than me and paid the price. They had about a 100 meter lead on me with a half mile to go. I cut it to a 20 meter lead with about a quarter mile to go. I was happy I did this because I forced the top girl to run hard going in. I passed the No. 2 girl with about 300 meters to go. But couldn't close the gap on the top girl. At least I made her work for it.
