Notes
Almost didn't try this run because of my knee situation. Dimitri told me this was a risk I didn't need. He's probably right. But I didn't get hurt on this run. And I did get valuable information. So even though it wasn't the wisest move, I'm glad I did it. The first run took a big toll on me. I can see what Dimtri means by the first run can't be all out. A little over two miles in I wanted to stop. The humidity was getting to me and I was exhausted. R2C people with base. I would suggest doing at least one two-a-day. My advice would be to do one steady run of about the distance of your first leg. I would then suggest a light run of 3-5 miles for the second run at an easy pace. Running a hard two-a-day seems high risk and pointless at this point. But simulating some of the fatigue you will feel on race day I think is key to proper race day pacing.
