I decided to try to control my heart rate for the first time. I set the heart rate alert at 167. Since I've been averaging high 170s running with my team, I figured this would be a significantly slower run. I did pretty well I think. The Garmin only beeped once 2.98 miles into the workout. I slowed down a bit and was fine after that. I set the watch to alert me of my times each mile. But I guess that doesn't track each mile interval. I have to read more on how to track each mile. I remember from the alerts that my first mile was 9:35 pace and that my heart rate was in the 150s for that entire mile.
