Notes

Lovely indian summer afternoon, definitely summer-like temps. Mellie, the selective hypochondriac, decided she could go for a walk after the master came back home. On Monday, my son James called while Lynn and I were on opposite coasts. He had thrown the ball for the dogs in the back yard and Mellie had started limping. The way James had put it, it sounded serious, at the very least a double amputation of the fore legs. Still, I remained optimistic, remembering that mellie had pulled a muscle while playing fetch before. When Lynn got home on Tuesday, mellie greeted her at the door and climbed on the couch to sit next to her. When I got home today, she thundered down the stairs, expecting to be fed. I took her along for the walk, she limped just barely. I modified the walk to go along the grassy boulevard of Pierce Butler, also to check out the progress of road construction. Not a problem, I assume she was healed by the return of master and mistress.
