Twin Cities Championships-Classic
My first classic race in 30 years, didn't quite know what to expect, except that I would be trying not to be in anyones way. Grip was OK but skis felt slow, People I'd pass uphill would pass me back on the downhills. Some leaves in the tracks but not bad at all. There was even a guy with a leaf blower out, very nice gesture even though I hate the noise. Another couple first: first XC race at Battle Creek for me and first time I did the big downhill in the tracks, without stepping out. Not sure I would have managed this with better glide. Pretty happy with y pace considering 20 year old skis and mediocre wax job. Ready for this afternoon's skate pursuit, in which I will start close to the end.
