First ice skate of the season on the first day of the Canal skateway being open, from Pretoria to Bank. Ice not too bad except as usual near the bridges. Snow was falling and though it was periodically being swept, it was still often obscuring some cracks. No falls. 4 laps very easy, getting back the skills, picking it up slightly on the last lap at 16.5 km/h avg and AHR 125.
