Notes

As planned, I took this easy, didn't worry whatsoever about pace on the watch, and did some off-pavement stuff, and in fact the majority ended up being not on pavement.

Ran the 1.8k loop used for the the ski leg of this past Saturday's Winterlude tri. The surface was packed and quite runnable (and I left no footprints). Ran other trails in the Arboretum. In the farm, I did about 1k on the snow dusted ice crust covering the fields. It was able to support my 165 lbs (clothed) with at most a little crunch though, but not enough to mess up the stride and be annoying. Just need to be aware you are running on ice and not rip your groin. Moving to pavement for the return trip, it felt pretty unpleasant at that point in the run, especially with shoes that seem to be worn out and to have the cushion frozen, so I moved to the packed snow shoulder of the Canal for the first time which I found fully runnable and a great option in this case.

Stopped to stretch a few times, totaling about 5 minutes, included in the specified duration. Carried 1L of Gatorade and drank all of it.
