last MP run in Pfitz this time around. 14 @ MP. nailed it at exactly 6:52 pace for the 14 miles.

decided to run over a hilly route to help reinforce leg strength, as i still feel that was the key issue with the NYM last fall. I knew my legs felt tired going out, and my recovery from the long trip to Vietnam this week has been slow. so my thinking was to try to put in something around 6:50 to 7:00, with anything below 7 flat acceptable for todays workout.

the wind was also a major factor today at 10-15 mph from the NW. definitely felt in on some of the early miles. the hills were also tough but except for the steep one around mile 16 in the reservation, most were pretty easily smoothed out.

this was a confidence builder...if I can hit that pace on that route feeling like I did, i'm in good shape for the race.

want to put some emphasis on recovery this week for the HM next weekend. need a race plan, right now would be happy to cruise to a 1:28 or so, but if well rested maybe I can really race and go for a PR at 1:25.
