**DISTANCE BEST**. **TOT. TIME BEST**.

Wasn't planned, but going for it today was a no-brainer. All conditions favorable: Fuel, hydration, sleep, mentally charged, legs fresh after the cut-back week (which turned out to be, essentially, a taper), weather/temp. perfect (no wind). [NOTE: Temp. window on LRs closing,...might have been late fall before the next opportunity.]

What's astonishing is the 8:03. First two at 8:20 and thought I had settled in to normal 8:20 LR pace for the remainder. Guess not. Felt strong throughout,...no fade............

...........in fact, I'd like to credit 4 years of consistency, 8 months of building mileage, dogged determination etc., for 7:47 - 7:48 final 2 m., but props go to the back beat of U2's "With or Without You" and Idol's "Midnight Hour" for that. After cranking those fuckers up, I was more worried about my ears than my legs.

[Note: Did grab a few swigs of water at mid-point. Not sure how much that affected/helped this run.]

Several hours after, legs are really none the worse for wear,...slightly stiff and a tad sore, but really no more than usual.

So, what now? Will think about this.
