Comment: "The big race!! Went out too fast but just didn't know it. 1-km markers would have been very useful, though I'm not certain I would have slowed down even if my better judgement told me to do so. Went through 21.1 km in a little under 89 minutes. Second half in more like 98 minutes, so if I'd run a minutes slower in the first and 5 minutes faster in the second, I might have done a 3:02 or so. Still could not have cracked 3:00 at this stage I don't think. Last third of the race was in extreme agony in the quads."
