Nice cool weather, calm. Was just behind Erin, in her first race back from injury, just after the start so I caught her as she was settling in behind Amy, the first woman. We caught and dropped her and another runner (2nd mile), I kept up until third mile until I dropped off a bit behind Erin and one guy. On 4th mile, the guy dropped back to me, I tried to put some distance on him on a slight downhill and just worked on running smooth and keeping from dropping further behind Erin through to the finish. It's not often I remember feeling like I was making tactical decisions (running with Erin, passing the guy) Felt really good, very happy with the race. I actually won free Avia shoes as first masters (cool) and a gargoyle pen cup for age group finish. Good tune-up; I feel ready for next weekend.
