rpe 7+. Stretched and abs. First mile was hard. Felt hard. Stopped around 18mins around 2.5 miles. Stretched. Noticed after mile 4 my pace got slower and slower. I am hoping that is merely from the humidity. I do not feel fatigued. My effort level felt comfortable. I enjoyed the run after a few miles. Got into a feel good rythm. But My HR was higher than usual. I took a gel flask with 50% gel 50% water. Hoping this would be easier to digest than the thick gel by itself. I began ingesting gel around 50mins. The first two times I took the gel they were 5 mins apart. That may have been too quick. SO I tryed one at 10mins. That seemed to far between. So i settled on every 7 -8 mins ingesting gel. Each time taking in about 20-25 cals. Ended up taking about in about 165 cals from gel over the final 50-55min of run. I felt like I could have ingested more. Would like to try ingesting closer to 185-200 cals to see how my body reacts at the above HR's. I also briefly stopped 4 times for water. It was almost a running stop. One quick swallow and kept going. Walked .35 miles about 6:45. Stretched! I felt good today...
