Decided at 8:25 Saturday morning to run the Halloween hustle
Threw on some running clothes, jogged to the start, paid my $15, jogged around a little more to loosen up.
Go to the start at 9 take off in the lead, others close behind first mile is all uphill 6:09.7
Second mile pick up the pace see if they can keep up, crowd behind me thins but people are still there 5:57.14
2.5 mile mark get passed- try to keep up, legs have nothing and I get passed easily. 5:49.03
Last little bit, no one close behind, no chance of catching the winner 5:43 pace
Official time 18:19.1
The course was set up about 10 seconds short by a new rd. We told him before the race, he said he would set it up right next time.
Second place for the third straight time I have raced on that course
