Have been thinking that I should try a more structured approach for intervals/speed workouts. So this morning I set up Garmina with an interval workout I saw in Runners World. I kept it pretty short.
2 sets of 20 second sprint followed by 10 second jog 4x, then 1 minute walk.
Also did 10 minute warm up jog and 9 minute cool down jog.
My sprints are pretty pathetic. I mean, there is lots of room for improvement ;p.
Even though my sprints were not very fast I probably should do this kind of structured run more often to challenge myself a little more.
It was warm and humid this morning. And I slept very poorly because of the heat & humidity and our AC is broken. The cat fell out of a window (now I know there is no screen in that window lol) around 1:30am and was trying to get back in through my bedroom window, which is screened. I'm surprised she just didn't take off. So I was very tempted to skip the whole running thing but I forced myself to do it. Hope I can make it through the strength class at the gym too.
