Finally got in another run (last run was 4/22 class). My goal for this run was, while it wasnt as long, I wanted to maintain under 9min/mile pace. I was able to reduce my min/mile split from the first mile and maintain it between 8:40-8:45 min/mile. The run felt marvelous, as I have been dying to get out and hadnt had the chance due to several circumstances that created the perfect storm of craziness last week (nephew born, which resulted in me skipping on my afternoon runs, tired from climbing trip which resulted in me skipping my monday climbing class and tuesday running class). My legs felt great, I was breathing well, and there was a lovely breeze that helped propell me along nicely. I could have pushed myself harder, but I planned on going on a climbing day trip, so decided I needed to reserve some leg power for that. Also, I really wanted to make it to the Bagel run, but did not make it in time. I will try again next weekend!

I went with a climbing buddy to Birdsboro, PA and climbed from 12-5:30pm. I was pretty thoroughly pooped after that! Despite running those 5mi plus the 3 mi hike in and out of the climbing area, my legs felt really strong and I climbed fairly well. I had planned on running Sunday morning, but I got back home at 1:00 am so I didnt make it out of bed until late morning. I will be picking back up my mileage and consistency starting this week 5/5, and will try to focus on maintaining mileage and increaing it little by little over the next weeks.
