Notes
A marvelous long run. The weather couldn't have been better for a January day. The first 10 miles or so, I had planned to keep it below 8:20 pace, but ended up averaging 8:00 - 8:08. Later miles ranged from 7:45 to 7:28. Fastest mile was my last mile, but it did have some downhill. I ran the first 10 miles by myself, then Matthew joined me for miles 11, 12, and 13, during which I ran the Ewing 5k loop. He had a little trouble keeping up with my after 1.5 miles, so I sent him to take a shortcut. It was fun having him for those few miles. Then we passed the house and he went back inside. I finished my remaining ~3.4 miles, all negative splits. I was really dreading this run earlier in the week, but it was fantastic. I'm sure the weather had a lot to do with it. If only all my long runs could be this great.
Oh - my heart rate monitor collected abnormal data in miles 10, 11 and 12. There's no way my heart rate was a max of 240 and average of 213 for mile 11 - my heart would have shot out of my chest. My average heart rate was 140 - 150.
