Notes

Today's theme: wind, ice and hills. Part of mile 9, and miles 10 and 11, and part of mile 18 were the toughest. I was headed into the wind, had to run on the sides of streets that the sun doesn't shine on so there was lots of ice, and most of my climbs are in those miles. It's funny how I notice the hills more on the second loop around the same course.

The first loop went pretty well, but I was struggling through the second loop. I decided to slow things down in the second loop, also because my calves were tightening up. I should have drank more water yesterday, but it was a very busy day so I think I was dehydrated for today's run. Not my best long run, but my body probably learns and grows more from these bad runs.

Way to get this in. Sounds like we had to deal with similar conditions out there, although I did not have to fight with the ice. The wind was enough for me! Not all of these runs are going to be great, but I think it's like you said, you are still getting a lot from it even if it feels crappy. Nice job, Frank! I highly recommend the sleeves I got. I used them again today and love them! I'll post a picture of them on my blog soon. I think they should help with your calves.
