Notes

This was planned as a 20 mile run, but I had an urge to reach 70 miles this week so it changed the plan to 22 miles. My run was actually a bit longer than 22 (probably 22.7) but my garmin mysteriously shut itself off just prior to mile 3. I don't know how long it was off but I estimate about 0.50 to 0.75 miles. When I turned it back on, it showed about 2 miles so I just pressed start to continue from that distance; this never happened before and the battery was 60+ percent before the run. I appended two miles by doing a loop around the College of NJ campus during each of my two 9 mile "Ewing" loops. In the later miles if I felt I shouldn't reach for 22, I could have easily cut out the loop and simply done 20. The first 1/2 mile on most of my runs has been uncomfortable because of my left knee. It is sore and my stride is not even until it warms/loosens up. Knowing this would be my longest run of the year so far, and my longest week ever, I didn't push the pace. I ran at a relaxed pace and enjoyed listening to three hours of the audiobook Micro. My heart rate was low for the duration of the run and I didn't spend much effort. Good run, and good weather to boot.

Wow! 70 miles with a 22 miler to end it! Very nice work, Frank. Don't push it too hard, though. I know that's difficult for you. But, the key is to train hard enough, but not so hard so that you get injured. It was wise of you to take this one slow. Your HR was very low through out, 133 average is crazy. You may as well have taken a nap during your run :)

Maybe we can run together this Wednesday? Or is this the one where you have to wake up at 3? If it's not let me know.
