(Intervals: 2mi @10k pace, 2x1mi @5k pace, 2x800m @ just below 5k pace) First interval was 2 miles in 11:51 (supposed to be at 10k pace, but first 1.5 miles was part of Navy PFA test which I ran in 8:53... a little a bit faster than my normal 6min/mi 10k pace). 5 minute jog rest after the 2 miles followed by 2x1 mile at 5k pace (6:04 and 5:56 w/3 min jog rest between). The first mile was miserable probably because I was still feeling the effects of the 2 mile interval. I was actually quite surprised that I felt better on the 2nd mile -- I guess I found my groove. 2x800m ran in 2:54 and 2:55 w/3 min jog rest between. This was one of those workouts where negative thoughts were creeping into my brain in the beginning of the workout ("maybe I should stop after this first mile interval because I feel like crap" and "I don't know how I'm going to get through the next interval, let alone the rest of the workout!"), but fortunately I just motored through the negative thoughts and let my body do its thing. Overall it ended up being a great workout! Cool down was about 3 miles from the base to home.
