Perfect day for a long race! Started out in the 50s, ended somewhere in the 60 range. Started out feeling kind of sluggish until I latched on to someone at about 1.5. Hung on his shoulder til about 4 or so, and then realized he was dying off, so I pushed forward. Ran alone for a long long time in the middle. Had 2 people come up on me around 10, but I couldn't hold them off. Passed another person with about 1 to go, and that was about it.
About 25 seconds short of my PR for a pretty hilly race, and no peaking before the race. I'm definitely in better shape than I was in 2004. How low can I go for Brooksie Way in October?
