So why is 8:01 race pace and 8:29 tempo? Shouldn't they be reversed?

Tempo is traditionally 2 miles of 15k speed. 8:29 is about that for me considering my conditioning. Race pace in this case wasn't marathon race pace but more like 10 mile race pace. And, I wanted different colors.
