I'm very pleased with this. This was a scheduled 5 mile Tempo/MP or SOS workout. You might think, well okay, it is about a 9:30 pace, what is so special about that?
Special because the entire run would have been under 9:30 pace except for the last 1/3 mile which was climbing Mt. Everest and because of decent headwind the entire way.
It has been a good training week. I score one point if I get my SOS run, 1 point for interval/repeat workout, 1 point for getting the long run and 1 point for hitting overall weekly planned mileage. Maximum 4 points. This will be a 4 point week. 19 mile long run, 5 miles of 10 x 1/4 mile repeats with active recovery, 5 miles of Tempo and overall 50 mile week.
