Notes
This was a very cool 20 mile run put together by Chris. We started up on RT 40 at Caffe Bene and worked our way down to Centennial Lake. Picked up Greg at our mile 5, got water at his car at mile 7 and then headed to Lake K. Turnaround and up Ten Mills Road and back into Centennial where we dropped Greg at his car. Headed back around lake and then up Gatorade Hill to Old Annapolis Rd and through Font Hill and side streets. Cool houses being built or rehabbed.
Finally finished next to the devil house with a van parked outside that was stuffed with trash and crap so much that the driver could barely fit. Sheets over the windows. More crap outside the front door.
Was looking forward to checking out the new place, Caffe Bene. Open the door, hey this looks nice! We order "plain" waffle and L coffee for me and plain waffle and Latte for Chris. 10 minutes later, they still haven't given us our coffee. They will "bring it to us". They bring it in pieces with my waffle and coffee and Chris' waffle, no Latte. Ask again, "It's coming". People after us leave with strawberry waffles, drinks etc. We find out it is one girl working, one guy who is new and couldn't make toast and one Asian owner who comes out of office when we are just about to leave and no more people waiting at the counter. Okay, waffles - terrible. They were both crunchy and yet, doughy on the inside. Just horrible. Coffee was equivalent to Starbucks which to me means overpriced and nothing special.
They play basically an ad for the chain on the big T.V. while you wait/eat. Trying to get more people to buy franchises. Supposedly 2 new ones open every day in the world. Well, hopefully they are better than this one.
After the run, Chris hurts in hips, knee and glutes. I hurt in left knee, right heel, glutes. All in all, terrific run, don't want to ever go back to Caffe Bene. 20 and done on a Friday.
