Notes
Pretty windy. Chris, Carrie and me in my car. Did 3 mile warm up. Race was delayed because big farm vehicles kept coming through the start line. This is a hilly course. No lie. I thought I had kept everything under 8:50 but I see I failed in Mile 2. Crap.
Hafiz was running with Chris, Frank with Carrie and I was by myself. Chris and Hafiz took off without a care in the world whether I was okay. Later on I caught up to them and was running ahead for a while. Then H & C blew by me with Chris yelling "Move over Fat Purple Boy" because of my Ravens shirt. I was going to say, "You'll see this shirt ahead of you before the end but kept it to myself." Just a matter of time.
All in all, a good race for all. Carrie with 3rd Overall Female, Chris with 3rd AG and both won pies. I didn't allow them to eat in the car. Saw Keith push Noah to a 1:35, Grace came by me and then jogged in the last couple of miles. Frank was running easy with Carrie after a big mileage Saturday.
Stopped at the busiest DD drive through I have seen. Everyone in Westminster was there instead of church.
This race proved I can run a Half Marathon at Marathon pace. Woo Hoo. And by the way, Judith Glittered me with her 40 mile trail day yesterday and came out for this run today. Now I get to not run for 2 weeks. I'll be lucky to be in the top 15 when this vacation is complete.
