Notes

The last SOS and I was thinking of ABBA. We had Chris, Faye, Frank and me. Met at Ten Mills Rd outside of Centennial Lake and went in for warm up and first 4 miles of Tempo/MP. Around the lake another runner said something to me coming from the other way in the dark with blinding headlamp. Turned out to be Caroline out for a leisurely 6:30 mpm stroll.

4 miles went fine and I liked that we started doing some of the Tempo there because it is hillier than Lake K. Back to cars, grabbed H2O, dropped lamps and headed for the last 6.

Hanson training has emphasized running on tired legs and simulating the last 6 miles, not the first 20. This was probably the first run that I really felt the dead leg fatigue like others have mentioned. Practiced some mental work thinking about the last 6 miles at Steamtown.

Chris, and Fraynk ran ahead of me despite my cries for help. So I had to soldier on alone. Target was 8:30 to 8:40. Job done but pretty wiped at the end. Where does the race day magic dust come from?

Did I mention that I hit 154 which is the weight that I was for the 2013 Steamtown? I didn't? Well, let me talk about this.
