Royal Beast 12 Hour Trail Run/Relay in Indy! Went with Brianna and some people she knows from home. Was kind of random and last minute, but when Miss Central Illinois asks you to run a 12 hour relay with her, you have to say yes. It was basically like 1.1 mile repeats with a 30-40 minute break in between for 12 hours straight. The trail was SO muddy especially after the rain came a couple hours in. There were some steep parts and bridges and downhills too so I am amazed I never slipped. It was like running the woods part of Crystal Lake- but on steroids. So we got in about 16.5 miles for the day, which is the most I’ve run in that short of a time span even though it wasn’t consecutive. My legs and knees would kind of lock up a little after finishing each mile, so it was difficult to start back up again each time. It was such a long day that it was very tiring physically and mentally. Our team won though was was v cool, and we got our own steins. It was so fun!! Very glad I went.
