Notes

I was a wet rat for today's run. Told DH I was not feeling 100% and if it started to rain lots to come and get me. About two miles into my run there is a dog barking. Dogs scare me, so I go X-country over a field onto a busy interstate and run about a half mile back to the frontage road I was running on before. About then the rain starts coming down, and I'm completely wet, cold and fighting wind. Thinking "DH save me from this paying your dues run" he never came. I tried to do some hill repeats but my legs were not into it. The nice thing about the rain is it made the gravel road a really soft to run on, my legs have earned a break. When I got back, DH felt bad, his parents had called during the poor down. Just as well, I needed the miles.

My ankle is doing much better. In general my feet and ankles feel banged up though. My body and head are both saying, 'TIME TO TAPER!". I tried to hit 60 miles this week, but with recovering from a race, and running another it didn't happen. I'm telling myself, just let it go, body isn't into it, but part of me wants to jump on the TM right now. That would be stupid right?

I have my LR on Tuesday then it is taper time, but what should my taper be? Though I did not follow Hal Higdon's training plan, I think I will follow his taper plan. I'm thinking more rest is better than less at this point. Right???? Or should I get my tush back on that wet hill and finish the hill repeats tonight?
