Notes
Good effort. The start of the race was a bit abrupt, so I ended up starting about 10 yards back from the line. Spent the first 100 yards weaving around people and catching up to the lead guy. Ran 5-15 yards behind the leader for about 2 miles. Caught up with him with about a half mile to go. Hesitated for a few moments because I wasn't sure whether he was slowing or I was speeding up... not sure whether I needed to just maintain and keep something for a sprint finish. Went ahead and passed him and still had a bit to give in a sprint to the line. I think the legs are finally starting to wake up. Probably could have pushed it a bit more. Next time... no need to do anything to screw up Chicago at this point.
mile 1 - 5:10
mile 2 - 5:06
mile 3 - 5:09
mile 3.1 - 0:31
Not so bad for a guy with a bum ankle and hamstring. Hopefully I can get all healed up in the next couple weeks.
