Paavo win number 6! Definitely a race to be happy about. Matched pace with 2 other runners through ~10mi mark and then with one guy through ~16mi. Sensed a bit of weakness right after the turn onto CR-C and decided to push the pace up the mile 16 hill and try to break him. I knew I had an opening when he didn't match my pace up the hill, so I continued the pace down the hill and just kept pushing the rest of the way. Averaged ~5:57/mi through 16 and then ~5:48/mi for the final 10. Not exactly MP, but I'll take it. Definitely a bit glycogen depleted in the final miles, but not to bad for a LR of 18 miles. Maybe this coaching scheme is working afterall.
