Awesome run at Banks/Vernonia Trail!!! Ran with Becky & Helen today for their 'easy' long run. Did the first 7.5 miles with them at 8:07 pace (slight uphill). Felt good. Decided to run the next 8.5 miles at a moderate-hard pace on my own (5:53 avg. pace). That's exactly what I did too! Every mile back was in the 5's pace. Last mile was an all out effort back to the Manning trailhead. Finished feeling nauseaus which always indicates a solid effort in the books. I felt great today and just went with it all the way to the end. Weather was Oregon at its best: Blue skies and sunshine, comfortable temperature, and a light dusting of snow on part of the trail which made it look beautiful. Ran on bark chip for most of the first half of the run then stuck to the paved trail for most of the second half for speed. Its days like these that keep me motivated to run and be fast. Great day!
