Run up at the trails today. Hips hurt like a mother for the first half mile on the trail. Kristin from work says the pain is originating at my Gluteus medius muscles near my hip flexor. She recommends using a tennis ball and massaging the area. She also showed me some stretches that target that area and I tried a few and they feel effective so far! Took it somewhat easy for the first half of the run and decided to pick it up considerably for the 2nd half. Hit the last 4 miles in around 6:15 or better pace and it felt good. The weather was hot and sweaty again, but running in the shade helped. Not a bad run minus this nagging hip pain.
