Ran with John Howell, Ian Nurse, Tony Rinck, Danny Gonzalez, Lawrence Merrifield Jr., and several other guys this morning. Met at Starbucks on Overton & 23rd. Headed out toward Mt. Tabor park through what seemed like endless neighborhoods. Once we got to the park a small pack of us picked up the pace up the long driveway to the top. It was a little tough. Park was beautiful and fun to run through. Had good views of Portland and the surrounding area. Came back down past a drained resavoiur and headed back. Had to play catch up with the group after stopping by a Honeybucket so I ran the next mile in 5:48. Last half-mile we picked it up again all the way back to Starbucks and dropped most of the group. I was able to crank it out and demonstrate my speed to whoever was left. Weather seemed perfect despite the terrible predictions. Most of the guys in the group were quite accomplished runners and marathoners. I was pleased to be able to easily blend in with them. Overall great sunday run.
