Notes
Given my level of fitness, I didn't quite know what to expect today. Started with Paula to get her going, and then pushed on. First mile in a tad over 10 minutes, then settled into a reasonable rhythm around 9 minute pace. Went through 5 miles at 46:25, and held steady through to 8 1/2 miles. When we turned back into the Park at the bottom of the Upper Glen Road, I decided to take it easy from there on. Walked up the Glen Road Hill to the 9 mile mark, and then ran/walked to 9 1/2 as my calves were tying up again. Pushed over the last 400m or so, with the RSP gang out in force cheering everyone on in the finishing straight. Knowing I was less than 70% fit for this, happy enough with the time, and the constancy until the hills. The Half Marathon in a month should see me increasing the level of fitness, and hopefully be a little more competitive.
