Notes

Altra spikes are the bee's knees. No arch tension at any point. I seeded myself at 4:38 and thought that would probably hurt a little to pull off, so going 4:40-4:38 pace for 1000m and then dropping 8 seconds in 600m felt pretty good. I never looked back, but according to Sara I really toasted the field in the last 150m. I guess I'm doing something right? At the very least I'm well rested, and I didn't really have time to sit and ponder my existence in prep for this - we had the timing pretty much down to the wire. I was done warming up with 10-15 minutes until race time. I thought about how small BU feels now that I'm out of college, and thought: "I'm not scared of any of this any more". Everyone there was human just like me, and I knew I was in a heat that wouldn't put me through the wringer, I could run my own race. I feel like I have race tactics down pat, or at least my instincts were on their A-game today. All told, I think I have a shot at PRing this season.
