Notes
not a great workout today. Had a bunch of people here today including a bunch of grads: jake, Jack jett, alan poe. We discussed routes and I said greene valley because I knew that Washington would be flooded from how high the river was at knock. Everyone followed jake to Washington and it was completely flooded - not even runnable so we cut west on a cross street and went on modaff to dt naperville. All this time I had to go to the bathroom and I had to old it for a solid 3 miles until i got to st Raphael l church which I slipped into. no one waited so I was alone till I ran into blake and david. I just turned with them so I would not be alone for the steady. Took the steady at about 6:20 which was good. My watch died at 1:15:00 so I don't have splits for the last 10 min. When we started the pickup I dropped David and blake and got in a super good groove. I was finally having a good pickup on a long run which hasn't happened to me in like forever. I was super happy and looked down to see the pace and my watch was dead - no problem thou I just went off feel. And I felt good till I went over the bridge at knock. At this point, I started having the chest pressure/pain that every now and then screws me over on longer high-intensity workouts - the same thing that happened to me when I raced a 10k a while back.I pushed through it for a bit but it just kept getting worse so I stopped and took a breather then started up again and it still hurt, so I jogged it in easy. Im honestly pissed off about this workout. It was still a super good workout but the last pickup was not really a thing after the first 1500. The chest issue is super infrequent, this is the first time it has happened in a while, and I dont think its a big deal as long as it stays infrequent. All my doctors and everyone I have talked to said it was nothing to worry about. Im thinking about doing a pickup on the end of the Monday or Tuesday workout so I can at least get something in.
I actually remembered to turn auto lap on so here the splits until my watch died:
