When I woke up this morning I said to myself "you had to be crazy to go out in this today". Yet found myself running a race at John Bryan state park.
ORRRC had their Winter ❄️ Solstice 10 miler today and the conditions were less than favorable. In fact some of the biggest challenges were getting to the start line through the parking lot. I as well as others ended up on their back in this process.
Ice, slush, snow, streams, rock stairs to go up and down and hills of switchbacks. Sounds like a good time right?
Finished 3 overall but I think everyone earned a badge today. Bunch of die hard trail runners! This will be a race I remember for a long time
Some areas were tougher than others, and some you just wanted to get through safely. Ran with a group of 2 others towards the end of the race. Fun but challenging.
