7.5 mile easy Fartlek on Home Treadmill. Avg HR 139, Max HR 166, Avg Pace 9:27 min/mile. I used 6.0 mph as speed for recovery, with brief intervals as fast as 10.0 mph (one such for about 40 seconds). A few "hills" with incline set to 10 and 15 for 30 seconds or so. There is no way I can do a fartlek with an overall average pace anywhere close to the suggested pace of 8:33, so this is one bit of feedback I would have for the program. (My suggested pace range was 8:04 to 9:19 for today's workout -- my actual range was 6:00 to 10:00! But if I adjust so that my avg pace is closer to 8:33, I would have to tighten up my range A LOT! Then it would seem more like an Aerobic Run than a Fartlek. So the question is: Am I going to fast on my fast portions to require the significant recovery at time at significantly slower paces? But after all, it is a fartlek, and the way I am doing it now seems like a lot more fun!
