Notes

Glorious morning, really good run,

Hills workout, ran the Sioux Drive hill instead of Wayzata HS -- shorter but steeper. I really exaggerated the Springing motion on the uphill runs, and I did most of my strides behind Oak Eatery. Felt great today -- maybe just a nice break from heat and humidity. Anyhow, my average HR stayed pretty low today, which is surprising to me. I thought that after a few hills and strides, my HR would elevate and it would be tough to bring it down. This was not the case.

It is interesting, however, about the shorter length of the hill (vs. the HS hill). When I run the longer hill, I am breathing very HARD by the time I reach the top. On the Sioux Drive hill, it is steep, but it only takes about 1 minute to get to the top. I am just starting to breathe harder, but it isn't sustained long enough to make me breathe really hard, or to make my HR go up really high. I actually don't know which is preferred, from a training perspective. It is not supposed to get Anaerobic, I don't think. However, I believe that the Lydiard Hill circuit in NZ included an 800 meter hill climb. That would be even longer than the hill by the Wayzata HS. Anyhow, I am happy with the workout today.
