Avg HR about 143 steady at a steady pace of about 8:11 throughout. One of my more consistent runs.

I had one GU gel beforehand, but none during this run (no water, either). This is part of my new training plan -- to train the muscles to better store glycogen by NOT constantly replenishing during the run. Maybe "practice" using gels for races as I start to get closer to the race date. And maybe bring some along in case of cramps, etc. But generally, try to create the muscle adaptation to become better able to store glycogen and use it efficiently.

(NOTE: I did not do this for my marathon training. As a result, during the marathon, I think my body really expected to be replenished more along the way, and I may have hurt my time a bit by not having any gel for at least the first 8 miles... I "bonked" just a bit around miles 22-23, and the banana I ate at mile 23 seemed very "key" to my strong finish -- I was lucky someone was handing out bananas!!!)
